Blue water ripple blanket

I am almost finished with a new ripple blanket!

I chose blue tones because my aunt is painting one of the rooms in her house a very light blue color.  Once the painting is finished, this blanket will look great on the bed or just thrown over a chair.

Thanks to Lucy over at Attic 24 for making an easy to understand pattern and a great tutorial 🙂  Here is the Neat Ripple Pattern

Wine Country Getaway Continued

Here are a few more pictures from my visit to the Castello.

The Goats and sheep were eager for olive branches 🙂

The chapel

The chapel

Here’s the view from the path on your arrival, the gift shop is right around the corner. Or you can go left and venture up the front steps, cross the draw bridge and sign up for the next tour and tasting.

You are also free to explore most of the castle grounds!

Even the bathrooms have a magical feel to them, I really liked the dragon faucets.

There are many gargoyles placed around the entrance

Barrel room

At the end of your tour you are taken into a private tasting room and they give you a score sheet that lists all of their wines and you are able to choose up to five wines to taste. My favorite is La Fantasia!

If you are looking for something new to do or you are in the area, stop by and explore this wonderful winery. I count myself lucky to live in the heart of the wine country!

Wine Country Getaway

I know this is straying quite a bit from crochet but I have to share this place with you!

Nestled in the napa valley is a beautiful castle winery called Castello Di Amorosa built in 2007 by Dario Sattui. The castle was made with stone that was shipped over from Europe. This is my third visit to this winery and I always see something new, I finally got to see one of the castle kitties! Here is Lady Guinevere lounging in the shade of an olive tree.

I love this place, there’s something very peaceful about this winery and I cannot wait to go back and take more pictures!

Hats, hats and more hats!

I thought I would share some of the hats that I’ve made since I started crocheting last year. I have searched high and low for the patterns but sadly I cannot remember where I found them 😦 Maybe somebody recognizes these and can help me match them up to their patterns? Ok, I know that’s too much to hope for but it’s worth a shot! 🙂

Crochet Extras

I love to look at all the fun yarn bombs out there!  I feel inspired to create one somewhere local, but I don’t want the city of Santa Rosa to go through the hassle of taking it down.  I might just do one for a family member, maybe a tree in somebody’s yard will have to do 🙂 That way it can be enjoyed for awhile and not taken down immediately!

I love this local yarn bomb of the Sister city statues from Jeju City, South Korea located on Sonoma Avenue last year. Credit to Artist Judy Kennedy for knitting up these giant, cozy hats.
